Community Development and Empowerment

It is a non-governmental group called Shri Hari Gaushala Research and Social Foundation. It was founded in 2023 with the primary goal of focusing on the overall development of the impoverished neighborhood. Using a holistic approach, we serve the community by offering various initiatives in education, health, women’s empowerment, the environment, and disaster relief. We aim to assist everyone who needs it by reaching out to as many communities as possible throughout India.

Based on this, we determine how we contribute to the social and economic development of children and the broader public, and we carry out various repairs to improve deteriorated public facilities. To improve public accessibility, we are upgrading ICDS (Integrated Child Development Schemes) Centers for Children, Government Schools, Hospitals, Libraries, and Community Welfare Centres.

Community Development

The urban poor are often devoid of basic entitlements otherwise prescribed to citizens of India. Their capacity to influence systems is extremely restricted. They invariably have limited or no opportunity to make demands on the system, and often operate within frameworks which do not guarantee them their basic entitlements. Shri Hari Gaushala Research and Social Foundations empowers the community to help themselves, by imparting Civic Education, building a cadre of Community Volunteers, and organizing people into Civic Action Groups to engage with municipal authorities on issues of common concern.

Key Focus Areas of Work

Creating equal opportunities for women

Women are often deprived of access to resources and denied participation in decision-making. They face discrimination in family and society. Their hard work does not get financial rewards as most of it is considered household work. Lack of access to education denies them opportunities to earn money and practice their agency.

Improving nutrition, protecting the environment

Where possible, we promote the establishment of nutritional gardens. Be it on a rooftop, a balcony, or on available land near homes. We work towards generating awareness about healthy food habits and eating fresh organic vegetables and fruits. Homegrown fruits and vegetables are not only pocket friendly, but they also help people stay healthy and fit.

Working with Homeless People

In India, millions of people live in desperate poverty. They do not have access to clean water, sanitary facilities, and adequate housing. Health & hygiene are an integral part of these projects, likewise help desks/ resource centers where people can get assistance to get ID proofs, open bank accounts, and get connected to social security schemes.
